These crabs come from small islands in the Indian Ocean. They have been found living in Java, Sulawesi, Riau, and Krakatau. However, they’ve also been distributed throughout Asia and the Western Pacific. It is a semi aquatic crab and should have access to an area of dry land with fine sandy substrate and rocks or drift wood or coconut matting.  A tight fitting lid is also essential!
